Adventure overview
Inspired by the classic B1 module conceit, this module expands the mystery of long-lost hero keeps into the foundation of a multi-tiered campaign path. It provides the starting town of Cedar's Ford, wilderness encounter zones, an aboveground tower site, two dungeon levels featuring 3 rival factions, and a timeline appendix.
Town Hub, Wilderness, and Dungeon Factions
Centered around the base settlement of Cedar's Ford, the module provides rumors, hireling rosters, and wilderness journey tables leading to the caverns. The dungeon spans two fully keyed levels with an aboveground ruined tower and three active factions that the party can negotiate with or oppose.
Multi-System Stats and Digital VTT Assets
Written and statted for Old School Essentials, Shadowdark, and Bree-YARC, the adventure includes an appendix with weather matrices and treasure tables. The download package supplies regular and low-res hyperlinked PDFs, unfilled VTT battle maps, and Worldographer hex files.
Ideas for your table
- Game Masters can establish Cedar's Ford as a campaign home base for low-level adventurers before expanding into regional wilderness hexes.
- The three dungeon factions can be used to run a dynamic negotiation challenge where players manipulate rival monster groups against each other.
