How to turn an image into a battlemap

  1. Create your free website account or log in. The tool uses the same account, quotas and connected Patreon or Discord benefits as the other Sacred Forge tools.
  2. Upload an existing scene. PNG, JPEG and WebP files up to 15 MB are accepted.
  3. Choose a ratio. Use horizontal for wide encounters, square for compact rooms or vertical for long roads and corridors.
  4. Generate, preview and download. The watermarked preview is free to inspect. The first original download uses one token; repeat downloads of that same result are free during its 24-hour lifetime.

Starting from nothing? This tool transforms an existing image. To create a new fantasy map from a written prompt instead, keep using the separate Free Fantasy Map Generator.

One shared account across image tools

Your remaining previews, downloads, website identity, Patreon connection and Discord connection are the same on every image tool. Creation history is also mutualized: token and battlemap results remain visible together for 24 hours. Opening another tool from the tab bar creates a new browser tab, so each tool keeps its own page and SEO address.

Image-to-battlemap FAQ

Does this replace the Free Fantasy Map Generator?

No. The Image-to-Battlemap Maker starts from an image you upload. The Free Fantasy Map Generator remains a separate page for creating a new map from scratch.

Which ratio is used by default?

Horizontal 3:2 is selected by default. You can switch to square 1:1 or vertical 2:3 before generation.

How long are battlemap images stored?

Previews and originals are retained for 24 hours after generation, whether downloaded or not. After that deadline they are deleted.

Does downloading twice use two tokens?

No. The first original download uses one token. Downloading the same original again within its 24-hour lifetime does not use another token.

Is history shared with the token tool?

Yes. Results from Image-to-Battlemap and Image-to-Top-Down Token appear in one shared 24-hour creation history for the signed-in account.
